For the Independence issue of our #SpiralMagazine, writer Mimi Mondal (miminality) created the fictional series “Blood Ties” with six short stories that reflect interconnections among townspeople grappling with potential threats to their community. In this first story, you meet Professor Sanju of UofM-Briarwood. As students return from spring break, whispers of vampires hiding out in the ruined old town hall spread across campus.
