An extreme heat warning is in effect Monday, from the suburbs to the city and parts of South Jersey, as temperatures are expected to hit triple digits for the first time in over a decade.
A code orange air quality alert is also in effect for the Philadelphia region and several South Jersey counties. This means the air pollution concentrations within our region may become unhealthy for sensitive groups, including children, the elderly and anyone suffering from asthma, heart disease or lung disease.
According to the National Weather Service, the effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding strenuous activity and outdoor exercise.
