Sean Wilson is one of the most decorated chefs in Iowa. His three James Beard Foundation nods for semifinalist of Best Chef Midwest are second only to Harbinger owner and chef Joe Tripp’s five, and match the number George Formaro of Centro fame, Steve Logsdon of Lucca, and Matt Steigerwald, formerly of the Lincoln Café in Mount Vernon, earned.
Wilson, who owned Proof in the Western Gateway neighborhood of downtown Des Moines for nine years, let his whimsy guide his Mediterranean-influenced menus.
Wilson returns, albeit for one night, with a special dinner at The Cork 50131, the upscale wine bar in Johnston, with a full wine dinner coupled with a four-course Mediterranean-inspired meal on July 16.
