Delli Speers, an 89-year-old South Side resident, has been contributing to neighborhood's street art for more than a decade through "yarn bombing."
Her work is typically knitted collars that range from a solid color to an entire rainbow. But Ms. Speers leaves her trademark of red or pink morning glories facing out to the public.
โI pass something or sometimes I look at a tree and it looks unhappy,โ she said. โIt's just a feeling that you have that you need to do something about either that tree or that block, it needs the energy. And so you put something up to give positive energy to the block.โ
