From student to alum to faculty member, Jon Deutsch, professor in the Department of Food and Hospitality Management in Drexel University’s College of Nursing and Health Professions (drexelcnhp), vice chair of Health Sciences, and director of the Drexel Food Lab (drexelfoodlab), has been a Drexel Dragon since 1997. Of all his accomplishments with the University, Deutsch says he is most proud of his students and their successes in industry and in life.
“Higher education helps prepare students to become professionals,” Deutsch shares. In his courses, Deutsch empowers students by immersing them in real-world learning opportunities. Working alongside current industry leaders, students in the Drexel Food Lab identify contemporary needs for product innovation and gain hands-experience in product development and innovation. In collaboration with major brands, our Drexel students are working in the industry before graduation, preparing them for dynamic and future-thinking careers.
