“I am so, so proud of it.”
Actor Jake Gyllenhaal has emotionally recalled the lasting impact and power of his time working on "Brokeback Mountain" as the Oscar-winning movie marks its 20th anniversary.
“Beyond anything I could ever put into words,” the actor began, when asked by GettyEntertainment about its mark on the power of storytelling.
“Not only what it did in its own existence, but also the experience of it with the people I made it with.”
Adding: “In my career, what has proven to me that storytelling is so profoundly powerful - and does change, even like a little cut in a world where there are many many many incredible people doing incredible things to change things, it’s one of them and I am so, so proud of it.”
The movie, based on Annie Proulx's story of the same name, starred Jake alongside the late Heath Ledger, Michelle Williams and Anne Hathaway. It received eight nominations at the Oscars in 2006, winning three.
