The student that UNC men’s basketball player Zayden High nonconsensually filmed during a sexual encounter plans to file a Title IX lawsuit against the University. She and her lawyer allege that the University Compliance Office did not follow its own policies in ensuring High adhered to disciplinary sanctions.
"There's so much evidence that has said that he's violated his sanctions, and they’re not holding him accountable for it," the student said.
University Compliance Office emails obtained by The DTH confirm High recorded the student without consent in January 2024. The UCO then imposed sanctions on High, including indefinite suspension and indefinite probation.
Prior to filing the suit, the student shared videos of High with the UCO that appeared to show him participating with the basketball team during his probationary period. The UCO told her High was not in violation of his probationary sanctions.
