The Washington Avenue Viaduct existed for a century and was known as the “Minneapolis Death Trap” due to dangerous flooding, crime, and unsafe road conditions. After decades of debating over how to improve it, the train company decided they no longer needed the bridge in 1984. Today you can still see some of the foundation stones from the viaduct on Washington Ave. #oneminutetours #minneapolis #minneapolishistory
