Taking a nostalgia trip through my archives. . This gem is from a 2016 expatexplore two-week tour I led. My group of 50 had free time in #Venice with instructions to meet back at #SanMarcoSquare at a prescribed time. . When our meeting time arrived, Venice was getting hit HARD with torrential rain. The square was flooded. I’d booked is 3 water taxis back to our hotel, and they were already paid for, so we were compelled to wait in miserable conditions. . What I love about multi-day tours is that there’s a “roll with the punches” mentality amongst guests. If I keep a positive attitude, it will set the tone. This group handled the downpour like absolute legends. . I physically carried a couple guests through shin-deep water to get them to the water taxi platform, but in spite of it all this became a highlight of the trip. . This world WILL return to normal. In the meantime, I’ll try and keep a positive outlook and get comfortable with getting drenched. . #latergram #covid19
