Berin's Templehof Airport was used by Nazi Luftwaffe, by Jews who survived the holocaust, and by American airplanes during the Berlin Airlift. In 2008 it closed down as an airport and, in a fantastic example of public reclamation, it is a massive park for cyclists, joggers, kite-boarders, and dog owners. There is something strangely exhilarating about cycling down the smooth blacktop of a landing strip for miles and miles. #Berlin #templehof #cycling #fattire
