Earlier this month, our patient Dominic and his family participated in Family Advocacy Day on the Hill, speaknowforkids' advocacy event in Washington, D.C. Dominic was joined by CHOP neurosurgeon, Dr. Gregory Heuer, as they met with congressional leaders to advocate for the importance of medicaid, pediatric research and medical advancements for kids. These issues are personal to Dominic and his family. They were referred to the chopfetalcenter after a 20-week anatomy scan revealed Dominic had spina bifida.
