“But Jesus called the children to him and said, ‘Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. Truly I tell you, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it’” (Luke 18:16-17). Growing up in the church, Vacation Bible School was the highlight of the year, and I never missed it. I loved getting to learn about Jesus with my friends through crafts, teachings, and skits, but especially through dancing. Little did I know the spark Jesus was giving me! Each year as I got older, I was so eager for the chance to help share God’s light the way others did for me. It was no question that I would be coming back to VBS as a volunteer. Now I’m entering my twelfth year of volunteering as a songleader. VBS continues to be my favorite part of the entire year. It’s a testament to us adults to witness childlike faith.
