Is Iowa home to the 'place to be' this summer? Well, according to the Wall Street Journal, it is. The newspaper named Dubuque its place to be for summer 2025. David Farley, a food and travel writer for the Wall Street Journal, traveled back to his hometown of Dubuque and documented his three-day experience there to make the case that Iowa's oldest city is the premier destination spot this summer. Farley's trip highlighted some of the staples of Dubuque, including revisiting the city's history at the National Mississippi River Museum & Aquarium and traveling up the world's steepest and shortest railroad on the Fenelon Place Elevator.
