This Spring, St. Andrew's Red Cross Club received the Spirit of Service Award, acknowledging this Upper School organization's efforts to help other communities.
The Red Cross Club exemplified compassion and leadership through dedicated service work and community outreach, said Dean of the Classes of 2025 and 2029, Chris Delfausse, bestowing the award the club.
"In response to Hurricane Helene, club members rallied to support relief efforts by having a bake sale during lunch, which raised over seven hundred dollars to help the North Carolina and Tennessee communities impacted by the disaster," he continued. "Their commitment to serving local communities and health initiatives continued with a recent blood drive that resulted in enough donations to help save 108 lives. The club also collaborated with local Girl Scout troops, leading hands-on sessions to help scouts earn their First Aid Badges and empowering young community members with essential emergency skills.
