The Miners win! ⛏️ Sussex County rebounded from yesterday’s loss and shut out jackalsbaseball, 2-0, on New Jersey’s Strongest Competition Night at skylandsstadium. The Miners split the series with their in-state rivals and will make up the postponed game on July 13 at hinchliffestadium. Both teams were locked in a pitchers’ duel and held scoreless until Miners center fielder Dom Johnson (dominicjohnsonn) laced a two-RBI single in the bottom of the seventh for the only runs scored in the game. Left-hander Rob Hensey (W, 5-1, 2.53 ERA; pictured above) tossed seven scoreless innings and struck out nine Jackals en route to his fifth win. Relievers Tyler Luneke (lune_tunes11) and Matt Stil (S, 2; mattstil22) shut down New Jersey in the final two frames to secure the victory.
