#BlackMusicMonthSpotlight: Dr. Cornelius Johnson
For Dr. Cornelius Johnson, music and Morehouse are part of a deeply rooted family tradition. A third-generation Morehouse Man, Dr. Johnson followed in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, both proud alumni of the College. As a student, he majored in music and was a distinguished member of the world-renowned Morehouse College Glee Club, touring the country and sharing the stage with voices of excellence.
His experience at Morehouse was nothing short of transformative. From the cultural pride of Atlanta to the vibrant campus life, he found community, purpose, and a lifelong commitment to Black excellence. As a founding member of the College’s chapter of the musical fraternity Phi Mu Alpha, he helped expand the reach of Morehouse’s musical legacy.
Today, Dr. Johnson serves as a passionate educator at City Colleges of Chicago, where he shares his love for music and commitment to excellence with a new generation of students. ...
