The suspect in the Coeur d’Alene shooting is dead after he started a wildfire and ambushed responding firefighters, according to the Kootenai County Sheriff’s Office. Two firefighters were killed in the attack and a third is now in stable condition. The suspect has not yet been named by the sheriff’s office. Gov. Brad Little has ordered the flags be at half staff until the day following the firefighters’ memorial service.
