📍 Rainbow Mountain - What you need to know ⬇️ • 🌈 This insta-famous spot has gained a ton of popularity in recent years. And, it’s located just a few hours from Cusco, Peru! • We really debated if it was worth visiting, and decided to go on our last day in Peru. • First, What you NEED to know ⬇️ • 🏔️ELEVATION - Rainbow Mountain, or Vinicunca, sits at 16,500 feet 😮 (the highest mountain in the continguous US is 14,500). You can get sick or dizzy, quickly. Acclimate prior by exploring Cusco (at 11,000 elevation), and surrounding areas first! We overhead some say it was there first day in Peru, and appeared to be really struggling 😣. • ❄️ WEATHER - Check the conditions prior! By late May the snow had melted, but just a week prior, the 🌈 colors were covered in snow! • 🙏 This is a sacred area and it’s essential we respect the land and local communities by staying on the trail and packing out trash. • So… Did we Think it was worth it??
