“I am who I am because of who we all are.” 🌍💙 That’s the spirit of Ubuntu—a lesson Jack Sodorff carried home from his service immersion trip to Cape Town, South Africa.
At the Tembaletu School for children with severe physical disabilities, Jack supported a team of therapists and witnessed strength and joy in the face of adversity.
“The school was very underfunded, but the kids showed up every day with joy and huge smiles,” he says. “It humbled me.”
👐Now, this medical anthropology major and future healthcare professional is bringing Ubuntu into everything he does: “I want to center on people, not systems. And remember that community isn’t just something you belong to—it’s something you build.”
