“Open for me the gates of the righteous; I will enter and give thanks to the LORD. This is the gate of the LORD through which the righteous may enter.” -Psalm 118:19-20 Standing before this open arch, the “Gateway to the West,” I’m reminded of something far greater: the open gate into life with God. It is not closed off or hidden. It has been opened through Christ, and we all are invited in. This is not about striving to be good enough or earning our way. The gate is already open. Christ has made the way, and through Him we are welcomed into relationship with the Father; welcomed into righteousness, peace, and joy that lasts. All of us are broken and flawed, yet Christ says come as you are, but do not stay as you are. He washes us clean. Through the gates of the righteous and we live as the righteous equipped by the Holy Spirit.
