Some of the most iconic horses in Royal history were born right here in Canada!
Burmese carried Queen Elizabeth II through Trooping the Colour for 18 years. Centenial was personally chosen by Her Majesty. And in 2023, Noble was gifted to King Charles III to mark the RCMP’s 150th anniversary.
These horses are more than ceremonial gifts, they symbolize mutual respect and embody Canada’s values: dignity, strength, and composure under pressure.
Now, meet Hudson, one of the distinguished horses leading the Royal Visit escort on Tuesday. Born in 2010, Hudson has trained for years to master the precision and discipline needed for this historic role. From early days at the farm to proudly leading the Royal Escort through Ottawa, this horse carries forward a tradition of excellence.
Follow along as we celebrate this proud tradition.
