If you saw his frame (tall, lanky but strong) and then saw the electronic times that flash when he hits the finish line, you might well agree with Syracuse University: Javon Lawrence could become a heck of a Division I college football player. Lawrence will spend his summer in Syracuse working to become just that. But before leaving the downstate area, he became something else. Well, two things, really. Clocking 10.53 seconds, he became the second fastest outdoor 100-meter high school runner in the state for the 2025 season and, even more impressive, the fastest ever from not only Rockland County but all of Section 1.
