A recent project to display American flags on Elmwood Avenue arrived just in time for the Fourth of July, and CHS alumni helped make it happen. Domenico Callocchia ’24 was among the organizers of the project while Hector Gitego ’25, Bradley Saleh-McDermott ‘24, Broderick Raczyk ‘24, Kiefer Bostwick ‘24 and Lenny Sciolino IV ’18 were among many who helped carry it out. American flags are displayed on Elmwood from Forest Avenue to Virginia Street in a tribute to our country, its veterans and active-duty military. “This effort grew organically – from the start, everything seemed to fall into place, like the path was already laid out for us,” said Callocchia. “As a community, we needed to do something meaningful to show our appreciation while bringing good energy to the neighborhood.” These great images of the effort are from photographer Nic Cascio (ricoflicks_).
