What a great Day One! Our prestigious Higher Achievement Program kicked off today as rising eighth-graders from across Western New York began their four-week multifaceted experience of academics, athletics and more. HAP is a major highlight of our Best. Summer. Ever program and is directed by Assistant Director of Admission Brendan Tenney ’12 (a HAP alumnus as a member of the HAP Class of 2007). Principal Tom Coppola ’01, who greeted families this morning, is also a HAP alum. Participants take classes in reading, English and math and compete in team sports and other activities with their homerooms – all of which are named after Jesuit colleges. The homerooms are led by an excellent teaching staff that includes several CHS teachers and alums while current CHS student volunteers help guide students and the activities.
