I grew up in Minnesota. Mosquitos in the summer, snowbanks in the winter, and a lake for every mood in between.
But no ocean. That part lived only in books and postcards.
Now, I live close enough to the coast that I can hear the waves before my feet hit the floor.
And honestly? That still feels surreal. Like I took a wrong turn and ended up inside a version of my own daydream.
I’ve traded snow shovels for sandy towels.
Replaced the buzz of mosquitos with the hush of tides.
Life still has its mess and motion, but it’s framed by salt air and open sky now.
I’m no expert on what makes a “good” life. But I’ve never once thought, I live way too close to the beach.
Some choices just feel right in your bones. Like the ocean was always calling. And one day, you finally picked up.
