Congratulations to Judge Brent Powell, Jewell Class of 1992, who began his new appointment today as Chief Justice of the Missouri Supreme Court. He was appointed to the Court in 2017 and retained by voters in 2018 for a 12-year term. While at Jewell, the Springfield native was a political science major, studied at University of Oxford and was a member of Phi Gamma Delta. Judge Powell serves alongside Judge Zel Fischer, Jewell Class of 1985, who was appointed to the State's high court in 2008 and has served a term as Missouri Chief Justice.
