my tips for everyone in Rio rn 🥹🇧🇷 [save + follow me packslight for more!] I went to Rio Carnival with a group in 2024 and it was MAGICAL 💃🏽🇧🇷❤️🥭🌊 I’m sooo happy and excited for you! 💃🏽 WHERE IS THE CARNIVAL IN RIO? EVERYWHEREEE ↳ The big samba parade is in the Sambadrome, in Santa Teresa ↳ but the celebration of Carnival is *everywhere* almost all the time (especially the first week) ↳ you’ll run into unofficial Carnival parties “blocos” randomly on the streets too - just go with it 😎 🙋🏽‍♀️ DID I FEEL SAFE? ↳ *controversial opinion/generalization for tourists* as a Black/POC tourist from the U.S., I didn’t find the main areas of Rio as intimidating as many people hyped it up to be. I’ve been to more dangerous places, for sure 🧍🏽‍♀️WOULD I GO SOLO? ↳ Not because of safety but because Carnival is better in a group of friends 1000%! ↳ luckily everyone is friendly at carnival!
