10 years ago, on this day, I made and put out this tiny short film, starring my main homie harrycartwrightart
It was an idea spurned by some innovative (for the time) slow-mo iPhone footage, and fleshed out by a spur of the moment trip around town.
I was living in Las Vegas at the time, and this sort of project defines my attitude towards filmmaking in that era. Creating when inspiration strikes, from anywhere. Making something swiftly and getting it out into the world, harnessing impulse to our advantage. Using kit and resources we have on and, but making it look and feel as best as we can. It was this energy that gave me something sellable at the beginning of my career. It’s what got me a foot in the door.
This film was the first thing I made that got any sort of recognition outside of my immediate circle. We had a small US festival run that gave us some incredible times, with some one-of-a-kind people, and more juice to create. 10 years on, I can’t belie...
