How blessed we are to live in this nation of freedom, where we have so many opportunities, beautiful land, the right to worship our LORD, and to enjoy life and creation. Just remember that there is greater freedom in Christ: freedom from evil, sin, death, pain, loneliness, and sorrow. But there is one greater freedom, one that no nation or law can provide. In Christ, we have liberty not just from oppression, but from the veil that once stood between us and God. We are no longer separated, no longer hardened or blind. By the Spirit, we have bold access to the Lord, not by our merit, but through the work of Jesus under the new covenant. It is easy to confuse outward liberty with true peace.
