One of the things I wasn’t quite prepared for going into my first IVF cycle was the steep attrition following egg retrieval. It was kind of a shock to me, but many of us learn the hard way that it’s all about quality, not quantity. After my last cycle, which ultimately yielded one single embryo and resulted in a devastating miscarriage for me, I was overjoyed to learn that I have 3 embryos this time.
