We had the honor of recognizing Linda Bryant as our Mass State Lottery Hero of the Game. Linda Bryant has shown exceptional service, bravery, and commitment as a Donut Dolly of the American Red Cross. We are grateful for her dedication and service. She served a year in Vietnam and while not in the military, the military command requested the program and provided support for their activities. She was stationed with Army infantry. Her job, always with a co-worker, was to travel every day by helicopter, jeep or truck to firebases and landing zones in isolated areas, to provide audience participation programs to multiple groups of soldiers. Their mission was to provide a brief respite from the war. Their explanation of their mission: A Touch of Home in a Combat Zone, a smiling face on a bleak firebase, an illusion of calm in Vietnam.
