On the 20th anniversary of spanx i happened to be driving around the neighborhood I used to live in (I drive to think and talk to the universe) and somehow... I ended up at the original Spanx HQ, aka my apartment 25 years ago. The current owner of the house’s name is Neil... the nicest guy ever! He was kind enough to let me go down memory lane to visit a few of some really iconic moments from the early (and I mean early!) days of Spanx 25 years ago. It’s updated and it looks adorable (his wife has much better taste than I did at 29 😂) but it still had that little flicker of “start up” magic. It was the home that had semi trucks pulling up to it twice a week, housed hundreds of boxes, thousands of orders I fulfilled on the floor, and even more dreams, hopes, wishes, ideas, mistakes and hilarious memories. Like the time Oprah wanted to interview me at the “Spanx headquarters” and when her team got here, I said... “ummm... surprise! You’re here! 😁” Spanx is celebrating its 25th year in ...
