During our 155th Commencement Exercises, an early portion of the ceremony was dedicated to special graduation honors, including:
The Philippe B. Piedad Accolade Award, which was presented to Johnny Esposito ‘25 of Niagara Falls.
The award was instituted as a permanent part of the graduation exercises in memory of Philippe Piedad, a member of the Class of 1993.
It honors a student who demonstrates the admirable characteristics that Phil possessed and shared with us at Canisius.
Chosen by a vote of the administration, faculty and staff, the award honors a graduating senior whose quiet inner strength exemplifies the essence of the Canisius spirit through academics, athletics and service.
It was presented by President Fr. David Ciancimino, S.J., to Esposito before a capacity crowd in Scaccia Auditorium.
