The name ‘Profilée’ draws inspiration from one of Jean Bugatti’s first creations – a specific Type 46 model with a sleeker silhouette and an elegant sweeping tail.
The Type 46 Carrosserie coupe profile – chassis number 46482 – was designed by Jean Bugatti. The son of company founder Ettore Bugatti loved visiting his grandfather, Carlo, in Paris as often as possible and was influenced by the art and fashion he came across in the French capital at the time. He consequently wanted BUGATTI models to look more elegant and streamlined which he achieved with the two tone water drop shape, the low slung coupe roof all the way to the rear and a flowing aesthetics at the back of the automobile.
In honor of these early models crafted by the hugely talented Jean Bugatti, BUGATTI called this refined CHIRON version ‘Profilée’.
