SWIPE! โฌ…๏ธ Mercedes-AMG has recalled around 80 percent of its AMG One hypercars, 219 out of the 275 cars built need to be checked for a fire risk. The issue comes from a missing cotter pin in the hydraulic line for the rear spoiler. If that pin is not in place, hydraulic fluid can leak onto hot parts of the engine and possibly start a fire. The fix is simple and takes about 90 minutes at the dealership. Although there have been two reported AMG One fires, one in Germany and one while being transported in the UK, officials say these were not caused by this specific problem. Still, the recall shows how complex and delicate the AMG Oneโ€™s Formula 1 inspired systems are when brought to a street car. This recall is a setback for Mercedes-AMG and for owners who paid about 2.7 million dollars for the car.
