You never want to show up to a car shoot and not have a direction of where you want to shoot and where you want the shots to go. Before every shoot, I make a little story board and mood board for how I want the shoot to go. This depends on locations, time of day, angles, unique items on the car (like logos, brake callipers, interior lighting, steering wheel, seats etc.) I will add all of these into a story board and create something like this. First shot is the entrance so it will be head on or 3/4 front shot. In the back ground will be a busy city or an open mountain hwy. Second shot will be a 3 photo split screen effect that has the interior, a wheel shot, and more area around where we are shooting. Third shot is more interior shots but slowly moving out of the car and off to the back and sides of the car. Fourth shot is typically another 3/4 back shot to close out the framing.
