It’s been about 1 months since the amazing northern lights came over majority of North America and I wanted to share how I took these amazing shots! First was to use a tool called “PhotoPills”. This tool will help you understand when golden hour is, which way the moon will face, and which way so much other information is. Since I was shooting in the mountains and knew that the moon was going to be a very small crescent, I knew that I would be able to see much more of the night sky. The weather also called for clear skies with little to no haze which was perfect. My other step was to escape the city lights. There are countless options of getting completely dark skies like going out to Langley, Chilliwack, Squamish, or in the USA. I decided to go to Squamish since it was one of my favourite locations and I knew a couple great spots.
