Russian former Transport Minister Roman Starovoit is presumed to have killed himself, Russia's investigative committee said on Monday.
Starovoit had only just been sacked by Russian President Vladimir Putin in an unexpected move that comes at a time of challenges for the transport sector as the conflict with Ukraine drags on for a fourth year.
The committee’s statement said Starovoit’s body was found “in his personal car with a gunshot wound,” adding that the “primary version under consideration is suicide.”
