Australian woman Erin Patterson has been found guilty of murdering three of her estranged husband’s relatives after serving them poisonous mushrooms for lunch.
A jury found the 50-year-old guilty of attempting to murder another guest, who survived the beef wellington meal, in 2023.
Following the nine-week trial, in the state of Victoria, Patterson now faces life in prison, but will be sentenced at a later date.
Three of her four lunch guests, her parents-in law, Don and Gail Patterson and Gail’s sister, Heather Wilkenson, died in hospital after eating the meal containing death cap mushrooms.
Heather’s husband, Ian Wilkinson, recovered after weeks of treatment in hospital.
