Yesterday, our interns went on their first site visit of the summer to Diamond Valley in Auburn, WA. 🦺🏗 Site visits are a key component of Core States Group’s Summer Internship Program. They offer students the opportunity to step out of the office and into the field, where they can see firsthand how engineering plans translate into real-world projects. By comparing design documents to in-progress construction, interns gain a clearer understanding of how projects develop from concept to completion. Diamond Valley is a unique 202-lot residential plat located near Lakeland Hills in Auburn. What makes this site especially challenging and interesting is its steep terrain, over 300 feet of elevation change, combined with the presence of a stream and six on-site wetlands. To preserve the site’s natural hydrology, four separate detention vaults were incorporated into the design, showcasing the complexity and collaboration involved.
