I still remember being 10 years old in 2003, reading and hearing about her reports on Afghanistan and the NATO’s intervention. Even as a child, I was struck by her courage and the way she raised the voices of those the world often ignored. Her work has inspired me ever since, and her well-deserved ‘Lifetime Achievement Award’ honours a lifetime spent shining a light on stories that must be told.
