Today we mark Independence Day, a time to reflect on the ideals this country was founded on and the ongoing struggle to make them real for all. We honor those who gave their lives in service, and those who continue to fight every day—for equality & true freedom. At the same time, we recognize that independence has not been equally realized. Too many communities, both here and around the world, are still denied safety. Let this day be more than a celebration. Let it be a reminder of our responsibility to keep working toward a future where freedom is a lived reality for everyone.
