The Flair Double down whip from xgames 2005 Best Trick is doing the rounds today courtesy of early2000sbmx and behind every wild trick at X there was a story. A month before xgames I was at woodwardcamp trying Flair downwhip to turn down. Yeah, that’s a good one too 👍 anyhow, I was getting close but kept getting thrown to the left of the bike. That in mind I took off straighter and had one of those moments upside down, as you do 😂 where I got lazy and didn’t grab the bike for a turndown instead the bike carried on whipping and I landed in the foam pit right next to the bike. Scared the heck out of me! Anyhow, that night all I could see was the fortunate mistake I made and how I was close to something special. Next day, back down to camp and so began a few weeks of hard work and only one pulled on resi before I left 😬 The Vert Best trick contest came off the back of a Gold medal 🥇 in Vert and it was a heater of a contest.
