The month of August has ended with no named tropical storms in the Atlantic for only the third time since 1950. But while the quiet season so far has been unexpected, weather experts warn it's not time to let your guard down.⁠ ⁠ "It is important to remember the lessons of Hurricane Andrew, which devastated south Florida and Louisiana in an otherwise quiet year," said Jamie Rhome, acting director of the National Hurricane Center.⁠ ⁠ "It only takes one landfalling hurricane to make it a bad season for you, and we still have many months to go in hurricane season," Rhome said.
