When Amardeep Singh Dhanjal, aka magicsingh, received an email about an interview on “The Bill Simmons Podcast”, he was thrilled. Having signed with U.S.-based management company Entertainment Lab and appeared on CW’s “Penn & Teller: Fool Us” earlier this year, it felt like a natural opportunity.
However, what seemed like a great PR moment quickly turned into 24 hours of anxiety as Magic became the target of a scammer impersonating a booking agent for major podcasts. Fortunately, thanks to two-factor authentication and his team, he was able to disconnect before any real damage was done.
