And did you know the melting of Arctic sea ice impacts more species than just polar bears? Interestingly, climate change appears to be affecting Eastern and Western Africa in different ways. In East Africa, there is an increase in precipitation, while West Africa is experiencing a decrease. Rising temperatures and droughts driven by climate change are causing significant challenges for species that depend on high-moisture environments to thrive. Shifts in rainfall patterns are significantly impacting the tropical rainforests that Western lowland gorillas call home.
