SUMMER, SUNSHINE, AND VITILIGO . Questions I get asked often . Does your white skin burn fast in the sun? - YES! I have to reapply sunscreen every 45 minutes to not get burn. And even then I still burn in those spots sometimes. Do your white spots tan at all? - NO! They either stay white, or get pink from a sunburn and then go back to white Does it hurt to get a sunburn on your white spots? - Yes, like for everyone else too. I just burn faster and it can get pretty fast pretty gnarly. Do your white spots grow? - In my case, yes. But for others it stops and another version of vitiligo the spots reverse back to normal skin. Not for me… I’ll probably end up as an albino eventually 🤷🏼‍♀️ Do you get self conscious about your skin condition? - Not anymore. I learned to accept and embrace it and now I just live with it.
