Omaha hockey has announced the addition of 15 players to complete its 2025-26 roster, and new NCAA rules have changed the look of that group. The Division I Council voted last year to loosen eligibility rules, allowing athletes from the Canadian Hockey League to play at the collegiate level. The NCAA reevaluated its rules and guidelines after multiple challenges and court cases. Most of UNO's newcomers are from the Canadian hockey ranks and already have played a considerable amount of hockey — some more than 300 games.
