Most veterinarians will never encounter hemophilia, Omaha dog owner Emily Wiley said. If they do, they may not recognize it until they lose — or come close to losing — a pup in a routine procedure like her dog Walter’s.
“Even if we don’t get to the point where we can bring this therapy (to a wider population), just knowing the other drugs that are available that could be used and how to use them is a game-changer,” Wiley said.
Of course, Wiley is hoping for more.
