Brazil's first Formula One driver was born On This Day in 1907. 🇧🇷 Francisco "Chico" Landi was an enormous star in his native country and was considerably successful in South America and beyond; good showings against the likes of Villoresi and Varzi in 1947's Argentinean Temporada series saw him invited to that year's Bari Grand Prix. Though he suffered a mechanical DNF, he won the following year's F2 event, and the sports car edition in 1952 in a Ferrari 166MM. His final F1 drive came in 1956 at the Argentine Grand Prix, shared with debutant Gerino Gerini, each taking home 1.5 points for fourth place.
